Sailor Fountain Pen Naginata Sharpened Black Trim Fountain Pen 10-7119
Black shine that combines luxury and calmness
Equipped with a long sharpened nib that can only be created by craftsmen who inherit traditional techniques.
Combined with the supple writing feel of Sailor's unique 21-karat gold nib, it provides an unparalleled and comfortable writing experience.
Furthermore, by using a metal material for the tip, the center of gravity when writing is lowered, allowing you to write as if it were sliding on the paper using only the pen's own weight, without applying unnecessary pressure.
The appropriate weight and black metal parts give it a more solid feel.
[Nagano sharpening]
In order to write kanji that have a lot of tome, hang, and bulge in the most beautiful way, the pen has the feature that you can draw thick lines when you lay it down, and thin lines when you hold it upright.
Compared to a standard nib of the same character width, the long sharpened nib is thicker.
History of the development of “long sword sharpening”
Naginata sharpening, which has been passed down since the company's founding in 1911, temporarily disappeared as fountain pens became mass produced after the war and nib processing became more mechanized, but the technique has been passed down by pen craftsmen Gunichi Koyama and Nobuyoshi Nagahara.
Around 1991, based on customer feedback, Nobuyoshi Nagahara revived the pen as a modern long sword sharpener by further improving the sharpening method used at the time of its founding, with the aim of creating a "fountain pen that could be written at an angle."
