On the balcony of Atsuko Yukawa's home, a rather surreal scene unfolded, with birds freely moving in and out of the birdcage in search of the food dish.
The birdcage has a gable roof reminiscent of a Showa-era cultural residence, and the wires on the side walls have been cut off. What's more, there is a small viewing window in the shoji door facing the balcony, so you can observe the birds to your heart's content without putting any stress on them.

In 1997, Yukawa quit her busy life as an office worker and chose to become an independent illustrator. Yukawa's illustrations of flora and fauna, where she excels, are supported by her careful and careful eye for these everyday events.
This is why they go beyond being mere miniature paintings and have a unique calmness to them.
　
The cover of the bi-fold card depicts a perched bird resting its wings. "A bird is design and that is characteristic that I appear for the first time when I flew and wants to express it. But Yukawa who said, I want to describe it in it as, in fact, I loved me, a figure of the bird which did not fly met one's needs by oneself.
