"Tomotake" is the name of the unit created by the couple Masahiro Asatake, an artist whose main material is cloth, and Hiroko Asatake, a designer. With the desire to incorporate works of art into our daily lives as scenery, we create fabric works using mud dyeing and embroidery as everyday items.
The cat design on this paper item was created using actual mud-dyed cloth as the original image, and was finished using letterpress printing.
I think one of Tomotake's charms is his exquisite sense of balance without being overly elaborate, and I feel that the subtle smudges and dimples give a sense of calm and are connected to the gentleness of his natural body.
