A fountain pen with a Japanese-style pattern created with Maki-e on a white lacquer base. This high-quality fountain pen, created by a skilled Japanese lacquer craftsman, stands out for the depth of the lacquer color and the delicacy of the Maki-e. There are three designs in total. "Peony and butterfly" is a gorgeous combination that is an auspicious motif; "Dragonfly and Iris" combines "Dragonfly" and "Iris" (challenge), which represent the spirit of "unwavering" as they only fly straight forward; and "Yatagarasu and Sun" is based on the motif of the mythical three-legged crow "Yatagarasu" and the sun.
The nib is large and 18K gold for a smooth writing experience, the pen barrel is thick and heavy, and the serial number and the signature of the lacquer craftsman are engraved on it. It comes with a fountain pen ink (TFPI-WD42-2) and a pen case, and comes in a paulownia wood box that can be used for storage or as a gift.
