일러스트레이터인 미츠씨에게는, 최근 10년 정도, 새로운 카탈로그를 만들 때마다, 매회와 같이 일을 부탁하고 있는 생각이 듭니다.
미츠씨를 처음 아는 계기가 된 것은 우연히 찾아낸 홈페이지였습니다. 좋아하는 책이나 영화나 음악을 쓰는 각 페이지의, 필기의 타이틀 문자가 왠지 매우 좋았습니다. 이른바 능숙한 글자라고 하는 것과는 다릅니다만, 다음날에도 신경이 쓰이고, 또 그 다음날에도 보답해 보거나 하고 있는 사이에, 아무래도 뭔가 써 주었으면 하고 마음대로 분위기가 쌓여 버렸습니다.
그리고 곧 긴 긴 부탁의 편지에 뿌리를 내렸을 것입니다만, 어쨌든 일을 맡아 주게 되었습니다.
처음에 카탈로그의 제목을 써 주시고, 다음에 바로우의 도시락에 사용하는 일러스트를 부탁했습니다. 그렇게 하면, 「무슨 그림인지 알 수 있는 그림이 그려져 있는 도시락을, 자신이라면 사용하지 않는다.」라고 말해, 점이나 원이 늘어선 만큼의 일러스트가 완성되었습니다.
이번에는 부엌 ふきん에 사용할 수 있는, 요전날의 도시락 상자 같은 일러스트를 그려달라고 부탁하면, 「후킨이라면, 예쁜 핑크나 블루의 무지가 갖고 싶다.」라고 말하는 것이었습니다.
최근 다시 필기 일본어 로고를 사용하고 싶다고 하면 "지금은 그 느낌의 분위기가 아니라고 생각한다."라고 쓰고 싶지 않습니다.
그런 상태로, 매번 생각하지 않는 대답이 돌아오는 것이, 모르는 사이에 재미가 되어 버렸습니다. 이것은 분명 팔 수 없지만, 절대 멋지다고 만든 것이, 역시 팔리지 않아도 징수하지 않고, 몇개의 새로운 기획에 임했습니다.
그리고 지금 완성된 것이 이 린넨가제 손수건입니다. 원포인트의 자수가 불평 없이 귀엽다.
